Just closing the loop by posting a couple pictures I promised.
The flip (for joy) is the new crown molding in the upstairs hall. I love it, though probably no one else would ever notice. It looks so cottage-y and pretty.
The flop is about the acoholic paperwhites tip. If I had taken the picture yesterday, there would have been no flop, but today…one errant stalk. Maybe I didn’t start the alcohol soon enough, or maybe it needed to be a little stronger solution. Even so, they still look pretty nice. I’ll keep trying with the rest of my bulbs — it’s a long winter.
Winter is on my head, but eternal spring is in my heart.

Your crown molding is gorgeous, as are your paperwhites. Happy New Year to you. I’ve never been able to keep paperwhites standing even with a wire cage. Last ones came from my Mom, RIP. I didn’t have the heart to tell her her Christmas flowers died nearly immediately, but I still have last year’s bay leaf wreath to remind me of her.
What’s the tartan there? Stewart? We loved living in Scotland and I’d do so again in a heartbeat. Happy New Year to you and yours, Dee, aka, dee@cookingwithdee.net

Thanks, Dee! Happy New Year to you! Actually, the tartan runner is my husband’s but not sure of the family — he actually has Scottish ties, though, as his mother’s maiden name is Roy (of Rob Roy fame, the MacGregor (McGregor?) clan). It would be great to visit there someday.
